The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Community Nursing Services provides essential nursing care to eligible veterans and their families.
With DVA funding, you can access the necessary services to support your health, maintain independence, and improve your quality of life.

To be eligible
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for DVA Community Nursing Services, individuals must:
- Be an Australian veteran or the partner, widow, or dependent of a veteran
- Be eligible for DVA health services, including being a Gold or White Card holder
- Have specific healthcare needs as determined by a healthcare professional or DVA guidelines
How to receive support
If you think you could benefit from Community Nursing services, you can contact either: your local doctor a nurse practitioner in community services, a doctor in a hospital where you are receiving treatment, or the person who will be managing your discharge from hospital.
